MySpace.. Dead and gone.. our favorite social media platform. From 2005 to early 2009, it was the largest social networking site in the world. Facebook surpased MySpace in 2009 and MySpace quietly disappeared. What would happen to your photos if Facebook went the way of MySpace. Even if Facebook last forever can you imagine searching thru 30 years worth of photos to find your wedding or senior photos. Or even those holiday family photos you so much loved.
OK, you downloaded your images and backed them up to a USB stick or external hard-drive. That’s great! Let’s look at the same situation: 30 years from now, you want to go through your photos. OK where is that USB drive and now do I need an adapter because the latest technology isn't compatible. Oh, and is the drive corrupted.. Dang-it that was my only copy.
A printed photograph looks better with age and it's harder to lose when it's displayed in an album or mounted on the wall. People choose to throw out prints; they don’t lose them.
Hiring photographers to capture special moments is an investment, and so are physical print products. You don't need to print every single image, but find the ones that make you smile and find a place for those. You’ll thank yourself in a few decades.
